MEET THE GATSBYS
The Great Gatsby evening begins with you . . . Dressed in formal wear: a gown, a suit, perhaps a tux, you’ll listen to jazz, choose appetizers, enjoy champagne or a Bombay Sapphire martini mixed by Nick Caraway himself, presented on silver platters, of course, in a twinkling courtyard. Elegance continues at your named table: choose the Astor, Vanderbilt, Rockefeller, or Rothchild—where you’ll sit amidst draped ivory linen set with period China, candles, and flowers. Wine will be poured, then expertly prepared and succulent tri-tip will be plated with fresh green-bean almondine, Waldorf salad, and artisan rolls. Join us and step into the romance and excitement of the Roaring 20s. |
LISTENIN' TO CANYONS & COWBOYS
Join us in your western finest—boots, belt, denim, and don’t forget your hat—for down-home, cowboy fare and celebrate Zane Grey’s, The Call of the Canyon, written while Grey stayed in Oak Creek Canyon’s beautiful West Fork. You’ll be greeted by none other than Rocky and Karen Sullivan of the Lazy Rock ’n K. They’ll serve a chuck-wagon-style dinner with green chili chicken, red pork enchiladas, cowboy beans, slaw, sopapillas, and Karen’s apple crisp with homemade ice cream. Rocky will read his award-winning cowboy poetry before we head over to the Village Library to finish our evening in style at the After Party. Happy Trails! |
A MAD TEA PARTY?
If you’re not mad now, you will be after the Mad Tea Party. Join the Mad Hatter, Caterpillar, White Rabbit, Dormouse, and Red Queen for a guaranteed insane time. “High-tea” style dinner includes meat pies, savory tarts, magic mushrooms, “Eat Me” delicacies, and “Drink Me” concoctions. No hookah, but Caterpillar will host a cigar-smoking section. Join in on Alice trivia, a riddle contest, and croquet complete with flamingos and hedgehogs. Dress as your favorite character – the Red Queen will enforce contrariwise rules no matter who you are! If you don’t lose your head, you might win a prize. Oh dear, oh dear, do not be late for this very important date! |
AROUND THE WORLD
Pack your bags, adjust your goggles, and prepare for a culinary trip “Around the World in 80 Days.” It’s 1872, and the world is our oyster. Dress in a period outfit from a favorite trip; we’ll toast to our adventures and share our travel tales. Join Phileas Fogg and our expert chefs who will serve local delicacies and cocktails as we journey from London across the globe. Along the way, enjoy challenging travel trivia with your fellow passengers. We just need to find our Passepartout…perhaps it is you? |
A DOG-GONE FUN PARTY
Join us and other dalmatians, owners Roger and Anita, and Cruella and her henchmen, for a dinner made for best friends. We’ll have ribs and pork chops (bone-in, of course) for your main dish, salads to make any dog’s heart healthy, and dog-themed appetizers and cocktails! Be ready to put your best bark on in case Cruella gets an itch for your pelt. Dress as your favorite character or come as the top dog! We’ll have costume attire to assist in your transition to puppyhood! Such a party would not be complete without a demonstration of dog (or people) training! |
TRAVEL THE HILLS
This East African dinner party will celebrate Rose Carr who made Rwanda her home in 1949 when she left New York City. We’ll recreate an ex-pat gathering like Rose was known to have on her flower plantation: full of stories about the people, safaris, and the beautiful landscape. You’ll enjoy amazing African décor and collections, a menu featuring fresh fruits, hearty vegetables, fine wines, and perfectly prepared tilapia, and be surrounded by beautiful flowers. You’re encouraged to attend in safari wear, garden party attire, or if you’re inspired by Carr’s adventures, perhaps you’ll represent Virunga wildlife and dress as a leopard, mountain gorilla, or an elephant! |
CALLING ALL SUFFRAGETTES AND SUFFRAGENTS
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Carroll Suffren invite you to their Brooklyn home to meet Suffragist Carrie Chapman Catt. Dress in white, bring signs and banners, wear a sash provided by the host, and celebrate the persistence that led to women’s right to vote. The music, décor, and menu will reflect the times with early 20th-century fare: hors d’oeuvres, soup, game birds, seafood, and seasonal salad. Enjoy libations of the era – Prohibition will not be enforced! Listen to stories and view mementos from loved ones who marched on October 23, 1915 in New York City. Later, we’ll honor them and march our way to the After-Party. |
